he Police Athletic League of Philadelphia (PAL) keeps kids safe by
providing them a place to go after school where they can participate
in supervised athletic and academic activities. In order to keep all
of the activities running smoothly, PAL relies on the help of volunteers
to coach, mentor, teach and supervise the PAL youth.
Many Ways to Volunteer
PAL understands that not everyone has the same abilities and interests
when it comes to volunteering and we work with you to create a volunteer
experience that meets both your needs and the needs of our centers.
Long Term Volunteer Opportunities
PAL relies heavily on the dedicated volunteers that we have at each
center who provide us with the support we need as coaches, mentors
and tutors. Whether you have 1 hour a week to volunteer or you want
to take on a role as a coach for one of our sports seasons, we couldn’t
do what we do without you. Please see the full list of volunteer opportunities
[link above]. If you are interested in volunteering please fill out
the Volunteer Application and mail it to:

One-Time Volunteers
Individuals—For those volunteers who want to support
PAL but don’t have the time to do so on a consistent basis, PAL has
many events that come up each year that we need volunteers. These
events range from helping coach youth through math competitions to
participating in one-time clean-up service events within the centers.
If you are interested in these opportunities we will email you when
they come up. Please contact us with your email address.
Groups—PAL does have the ability to host small groups
of volunteers for specialized service days. If you have a group who
would be interested in volunteering with us, please email the volunteer
coordinator using the “contact us” link, with the following information
no less than 1 month prior to your desired service date. PAL will
do its best to provide your group with the requested service day,
or work with you to find the most suitable date for your organization
as well as PAL.
- Point person for the group.
- Point person't email and phone number.
- Total number of people in the group.
- Date and time for the desired service day.
- The group's predominant age (youth or adult or both)
